Learn and Explore
Halbrook has been making workbooks for schools and for kitchen tables since 1994. One series, eight volumes, no apps, no subscriptions. A child, a pencil, and a problem worth the trouble of getting wrong first.
Our workbooks were written by teachers who were still teaching. Every problem in every volume was set in a real classroom before it was set in type, which is why the Answer Keys are at the back and not on a website: a key you can turn to too easily is a key that gets turned to.
The series
Volumes 1 to 8, published between 1998 and 2006, covering science, reading, geography, history, logic, mathematics and art. Browse the catalogue, or check a copy you are holding against our ledger of editions.
Still in print
MATH: Learn and Explore (Volume 6, 2003) remains available in its second impression. It is the only volume we still reprint, and it is the volume we are asked about most — usually about page 10. See the entry ›
