Corrections known to us, listed by volume. Readers who spot an error we have not listed are asked to write to the office giving the page and line. We are grateful for every one of them and we print them all, including the embarrassing ones.

A note about the four Answer Key corrections
A number of readers — several of them children, which we take as a good sign — have written to say that the four corrected values above do not follow from the questions as they are set, and that the values printed in the book were right the first time. We are aware of this. The corrections were entered on the instruction of the author and they stand exactly as given here. They have not been carried into the second impression and they will not be explained further by this office.
